Formerly the Gainesville Sports Organizing Committee, Inc. (GSOC), the Gainesville Sports Commission is a not-for-profit organization that strives to promote tourism through sporting events, creating a positive economic impact on Gainesville and Alachua County.

The Gainesville Sports Commission is governed by a board of trustees comprised of 25 leaders from various sectors of the Alachua County community. The board offers input regarding every facet of local business, from mass media to hospitality. The Gainesville Sports Commission, operating under contract with Alachua County, aims to thoroughly enhance sporting events for all involved. By offering world-class athletic facilities with an intimate, small-city atmosphere, the Gainesville Sports Commission provides the ultimate sporting experience for both participants and spectators.

The activities of the Gainesville Sports Commission(GSC) are partially funded through the Alachua County Visitors and Convention Bureau.
